This beautiful world is our home and we want to look after it!
For a few years now we have partnered with The Eden Projects to help combat deforestation, help to empower those not as fortunate as us and to fight climate change!
Everytime you place an order, we pay for a tree to be planted! Now our NEW Wood Echo Range plants an extra tree for every Wood item ordered, and your gift is celebrated on both a presentation card that comes with the item and on the invoice.
So for every order placed online or In-store, we will work with Eden Projects to plant a tree. And for every Echo Wood item, we plant another!
It's as simple as that... and all you have to do to contribute is to place an order for some Funky, Shiny Jewellery!
So lets talk about the Fantastic work that Eden Projects do!
Eden reduces extreme poverty and restores healthy forests in Haiti, Madagascar, Ethiopia, and Nepal by employing local villagers to plant millions of trees every year!
The Eden Projects objective, which they hope to achieve by the year 2020, is to plant a minimum of 100 million trees each year and to offer hope through the employment of tens of thousands of people in countries where poverty is rampant.
By keeping their overhead costs low, Eden Projects are now recognized as one of the most cost-effective reforestation projects on the planet. While the primary goal was to lift people out of extreme poverty, they have also become a model for environmental restoration and land management, and the trees they plant are recognized as one of the most effective ways to sequester carbon, thus reversing the impacts of climate change.
The destruction of healthy forest systems causes so many different problems. Trees provide a habitat for animals, purify water sources, control flooding and erosion and help to replenish the soil with nutrients needed for farming. When farmers can’t grow anything their farms fail and they have no option but to move to the overcrowded cities looking for work. Often they have to resort to selling themselves or their families into slavery just to survive.
Let's help by doing what we can!
